Kristin Reagon, a talented chef hailing from South Africa, is making waves as a contestant on the 2026 season of Great British Menu (GBM). As the Head Chef at Lasair, the upscale dining establishment within Finn Lough Resort in County Fermanagh, she leads an all-female kitchen brigade. Her culinary creations are a testament to her passion for utilizing local ingredients and her expertise in cooking over coals.
Initially on a path toward studying chemical engineering, Kristin’s trajectory shifted dramatically after a college cooking contest sparked her interest in the culinary arts. This pivotal moment earned her a full scholarship to the prestigious Sense of Taste Chef School in Cape Town. Following her training, she honed her skills at The Pot Luck Club, gained invaluable experience through an internship in the United States, and secured a position at The Greenhouse under the guidance of Head Chef Farrel Hirsch, where she achieved third place in a national inter-hotel competition.
Kristin’s move to Northern Ireland in 2021 marked a new chapter in her career, where she played a crucial role in the development of Lasair. Her South African roots are evident in her culinary style, as she skillfully blends traditional open-fire and braai techniques with the finest local produce.
Her talent and dedication were recognized when she became a UK finalist in the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy competition. This accolade not only boosted her confidence but also expanded her professional connections.

“I’m going to be on Great British Menu!” Kristin announced on social media. “This has been such a special moment for me, and one I don’t take lightly. I’m incredibly proud to be part of an all-female kitchen, and representing women in this industry means everything to me.”
