Jeffrey Robinson stands out as a multi-talented British chef, grower, educator, and author who has made waves in the culinary world. Currently, he holds the esteemed position of Executive Chef at Harbour View House in St Ives, Cornwall, where his kitchen thrives on principles of sustainability and seasonal ingredients. Notably, Jeff is also a competitor on the 2026 edition of Great British Menu, a testament to his culinary prowess.
Jeff’s innovative approach to cooking earned him a place among the first chefs in the UK to receive a Green Michelin Star during his tenure at The New Yard on the Lizard Peninsula. His leadership there gained recognition for its groundbreaking and environmentally conscious gastronomy. Beyond this accolade, Jeff’s career is decorated with three rosettes and several awards celebrating his creativity and sustainable practices.
His culinary journey began in the vibrant restaurant scene of St Ives, before he expanded his horizons by gaining experience in Bath, Bristol, and London. Eventually, the lure of Cornwall brought him back, where he took the helm at The New Yard Restaurant and Pantry alongside his wife, Caroline, in the picturesque rural setting of the Lizard Peninsula.
In 2023, Jeff embarked on a new venture with Harbour House, located in the scenic village of Flushing on the South Cornish coast. This establishment focuses on offering pub snacks and small plates that showcase the finest local produce sourced from nearby rivers, the sea, fields, and gardens.
Jeff also extends his passion for cooking through the St Ives Cookery School, situated at the sister hotel, Primrose House. The school provides immersive culinary courses, guiding participants in crafting three-course meals. It also offers specialized classes in areas such as fermentation, plant-based cuisine, pasta-making, and seafood preparation, making it a hub for culinary education and innovation.
