Ryan McBride, an accomplished American attorney, holds the position of General Crimes Division Chief at the Utah County Attorney’s Office. With over 20 years of experience, McBride has built a reputation as a skilled prosecutor, tackling some of the most challenging and high-profile criminal cases in Utah.
McBride has overseen thousands of prosecutions and brought numerous first-degree felony cases to trial. Among his prominent cases are State v. Danny Logue, State v. Christopher Poulson, and State v. Keith Vallejo. Additionally, he spearheaded the prosecution in the case of State v. Tyrell Przybycien.
In recognition of his outstanding work, McBride was named The Prosecutor of the Year by the Utah Prosecution Council in 2022. His exemplary efforts in State v. Jerrod Baum earned him the title of Utah Prosecutor of the Year in 2024. Moreover, he successfully argued in the trial of State v. Kent Barlow in 2025.
Apart from his courtroom achievements, McBride contributes significantly to the legal community in Utah. He is a member of the Utah Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee on the Rules of Evidence and serves as an adjunct professor at BYU Law School, where he leads a criminal prosecution clinic. As a core faculty member of the Utah Prosecution Council, he is instrumental in training prosecutors across the state. McBride also manages the training program at the Utah County Attorney’s Office, focusing on evidence, jury selection, complex case prosecution, ethics, and intimate partner violence.

Currently, Deputy Utah County Attorney Ryan McBride is prosecuting the high-profile trial of Tyler Robinson, charged with the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. The prosecution team also includes Jeff Gray, Chad Grunander, David Sturgill, Lauren Hunt, and Christopher Ballard from the Utah County Attorney’s Office.
