Judge Andrea Ricker Wolfson serves as a Circuit Court Judge in Florida’s Eleventh Judicial Circuit. She ascended to this position in June 2018, thanks to an appointment by then-Governor Rick Scott, taking over for Judge Antonio Marin after his resignation. She currently oversees cases in the Criminal Division.
Her judicial career began in May 2010, when former Governor Charlie Crist appointed her to the County Court bench. She won elections in 2012 and 2018, and in 2020, she was elected to the Circuit Court. During her tenure as a County Court Judge, she handled cases involving DUI, criminal traffic, misdemeanors, civil domestic violence injunctions, and uncontested divorces.
Judge Wolfson has also acted in an appellate capacity for administrative issues and is the co-chair of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Professionalism Committee. In her role as a Circuit Court Judge, she manages significant felony cases, including those involving the death penalty. She has made notable contributions to the Problem-Solving Courts as well.
Prior to her judicial appointments, Judge Wolfson worked as a prosecutor at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. Her legal experience also includes serving as a Special Assistant United States Attorney with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.
Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Professional Studies from the University of Notre Dame. She furthered her education with a Master of Science in Biological Sciences from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and earned her Juris Doctor with Honors from the Chicago-Kent College of Law.
