Former WWE head writer Vince Russo shared his thoughts on the recent tag team victory by Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss on SmackDown. The two former Women’s Champions teamed up in an unexpected pairing to take on The Secret Hervice and the duo of B-Fab & Michin.
Despite their uneasy alliance, Flair and Bliss managed to pick up the win, with Alexa sealing the deal after delivering a Twisted Bliss on Piper Niven and Alba Fyre.
Speaking on BroDown with host Mac Davis, Russo admitted that the match felt predictable and lacked stakes. He criticized the way the bout was presented and expressed confusion over the broader direction of the storyline.
“To me, this is a number one contender’s match. I don’t even know when they get a shot. I’ve lost track with everything coming up,” Russo said.
He questioned the logic behind the booking, noting that their opponents hadn’t built up much credibility.
“Who are they gonna put over in this match? This is what I’m talking about. I don’t think Secret Hervice has ever won a match. I don’t think they’ve ever won a match. Michin and B-Fab have maybe won one. So obviously, you’re doing an angle with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Obviously, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss are going over. That’s why I’m not gonna sit there for 10 minutes. I know they’re going over,” Russo added.
With this win, Flair and Bliss have secured a spot at Evolution. They will compete in a Fatal Four-Way tag team match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Their opponents will include current champions Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, along with two more yet-to-be-announced teams.
