Steven McBee Jr. is here to clarify his situation with Calah Jackson. In a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on July 10, a cast member of The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys shed light on the current status of their relationship.
While viewers saw Steven Jr. and Calah end things in Season 2, Episode 2 of The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys, their relationship has been known for its on-again, off-again nature. During the WWHL After Show, which featured guest appearances by The Real Housewives of Orange County‘s Tamra Judge, a fan questioned Steven Jr. about the possibility of reconciling with Calah.
“I don’t think Calah and I are going to get back together,” Steven declared. “I think that door’s closed.”
The same fan inquired if Steven Jr. had his eye on anyone else within the Bravo universe. Steven Jr. shared his family’s choice, suggesting that they are rooting for Paige DeSorbo, a member of the Summer House cast, when speaking in the Bravo Clubhouse.
“Yeah, I could see that,” Tamra agreed. “She’s a cutie.”
Inside Calah Jackon and Steven McBee Jr.’s rocky relationship
Calah and Steven Jr.’s relationship may have fell apart in Season 2, Episode 2, but the couple’s issues began long before then. In Season 1, Calah struggled to get along with her boyfriend’s dad, Steven McBee Sr., as well as family members, Cole McBee and Jesse McBee. The couple actually broke up, but reconciled before they started filming for Season 2.
“Steven and I have been through a lot of ups and downs,” Calah said in the Season 2 premiere. “We’ve gone through a lot together, but we love each other, and the only times we’ve really had major issues is when other people get involved.”
Calah’s relationship with the McBee family has only worsened in Season 2, specifically with Cole’s girlfriend, Kacie Adkinson, and Jesse’s fiancé, Alli Ventresca. Calah cut off contact with Kacie, Alli, and the rest of the McBee family because they never offered condolences after her sister, Mallory, passed away.
However, in the next episode, Kacie told the Dallas native that they didn’t message her after Mallory’s passing because Steven Jr. and Calah were broken up at the time, and he advised his family to stop communicating with her.

Inside the fight that ended Calah Jackson and Steven McBee Jr.’s relationship
All of the issues the couple has encountered came to a head in an argument during Season 2, Episode 2, when Calah confronted Steven Jr. about what she learned from her conversation with Kacie.
“I just talked to Kacie,” Calah said. “She said that you were telling [the family] that I hate them, but at the same time, you’re telling me that they hate me. And you literally told them, ‘Calah told me that she hates you guys, so don’t talk to her again.’ You literally cut those ties.”
She then went on to ask Cole why she fostered a “divide” between her and the McBees.
“There are still issues between you and my family, your perception of my family,” he responded. “In every single conversation about anything to do with my family, you are the most pessimistic person to ever speak about my family. I don’t know if I’ve ever heard you utter a single positive statement about anyone in my family.”
After the heated exchange, Calah called Steven Jr. to say she was moving to Dallas, officially ending their relationship.
