Jason Arcilla Biography – Jason Arcilla Wiki
Jason Arcilla is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and producer based out of Maui, Hawai’i. He is also a contestant on the 24th season of NBC’s The Voice.
With an R&B, Reggae, and Island Rock-influenced vibe he develops a sound he calls Reggae and Blues. Jason has released 3 EPs and 5 singles since 2015. His most recent EP was a four-song project called “Sing in Cursive” from 2021.
In 2023, he has already released three singles, including “Brimstone,” “Fearless” and “City Lights.” Jason also released a cover of Bob Marley’s “No Woman, No Cry” earlier this year, writing on Instagram that “every time I hear this record I think of one important thing — relationships.” He wound up dedicating the release to Kenny Bulliss, an old friend who had passed.
Jason has also performed with drummer Patrick Tavis and bass player Jon Cua as Jason Arcilla and The Rythym Sons. They released a four-song EP called “Cover Love” in 2020.
That EP was inspired by fans who kept approaching them at live shows about where to find their music. So the trio picked four fan favorites, including “White Iverson” by Post Malone and “Clocks” by Coldplay to put on an EP.
In a Mana’o at Home podcast, Jason says he spent time in L.A. pursuing music while working for Fed Ex before deciding to return to Maui in hopes of making music a full-time endeavor. It worked. At the time of the interview in September 2020, he’d been playing music full-time for about four years.
In addition to playing the guitar, he plays bass, drums and also produces music. He also enjoys surfing, writing on Instagram: “Surfing simply makes me a better human being and that is all — internal globe code.”

He received a 2-chair turn from both judges Reba and Gwen Stefani. However, Gwen went ahead to block coach Reba.
“When you first came in and were changing up the rhythms and the melodies, I thought you were a woman. It was so soft and tender and beautiful,” Coach Gwen Stefani told Arcilla after the audition. Reba McEntire said she thought that at first, too.

“This is a hard song to do,” Stefani continued. “We all love the original. Stevie’s voice is so recognizable, but the more that I listened, the more I was like oh my God this guy is unique sounding.”
The Hawaii native explained that he chose the song because it reminded him of being back home, blasting music with his mother, and that he sings it every Sunday.
Arcilla ultimately joined Team Gwen, but thanks to a bit of trickery on Stefani’s part, that was his only choice. Stefani blocked McEntire from picking Arcilla.
“Reba and I have gone head-to-head a few times now, and I guess we have similar tastes in music,” Stefani explained. “But I don’t like fighting against her.”
“Can you believe Gwen blocked me?” McEntire said. “I was just sitting over here minding my own business. We’ll, we’ll see how that fares.”

Though Arcilla enjoys performing reggae covers of classic rock songs, he “put aside” music for 10 years so he could raise his daughter.
Arcilla explained, “I actually had her when I was in high school. It was a baby raising a baby and I was forced to grow up. Me and mom split up, and I became a single father,” “Now, I can show my daughter who I am and she’s going to be able to see her dad putting himself out there.”
