Never having any issues with social settings or performing, Jenna was stopped in her tracks when she suddenly struggled with anxiety and panic attacks during her sophomore year of high school. She could no longer perform or sing in public. This is when Jenna started expressing herself through writing songs, even when she couldn’t bring herself to sing in front of anyone.

“That was so explosive. You remind me of Olivia,” Horan said, comparing her to Guts singer Olivia Rodrigo.

Legend compared Marquis to two other major pop stars, though.

“The beginning of that song, you gave us some of the Billie Elish with some of the slow vibrato, but when you started to get into sort of that raspy end of your slow vibrato, you started to remind me of Rihanna,” Legend said. “So much of pop music is open to you.”

Ultimately, though, Marquis went with Stefani, who said it was her dream to work with “a young girl who already has such an identity.”

“I thought I’d gotten rid of Blake, but there’s definitely a big piece of him behind, still,” Horan said, following his loss. “He’s left Gwen Stefani behind, and I have to fight her, too.”
