Jordan Johnson Biography – Jordan Johnson Wiki

Jordan Johnson is a chef and contestant on MasterChef: The Professionals 2024. Born and raised in Birmingham, Jordan completed a catering course at University College Birmingham. After graduating he was offered a job at The Ritz in London, where he worked for six months. He then returned to Birmingham to continue his career at the Michelin-starred Simpsons where he has worked for the last three years.

Jordan was inspired to become a chef by his mum. He told the BBC: “My mum is a chef and went to catering college, so I’ve been around food my whole life. After finishing school myself I knew I would follow in her footsteps in professional kitchens. Doing Food Technology at school only confirmed things, so as soon as I finished I knew I wanted to head off to catering college.”

Describing his style of cooking and any influences on it, Jordan said: “I am classically trained, so all the French classic techniques and ways of cooking are what I know best. Working in a Michelin-starred kitchen has helped me to hone my skills, giving me the discipline and structure to refine my cooking. I love the classics but also enjoy including a touch of my Jamaican heritage.”

Outside of cooking, Jordan runs Rogue Chefs, a private dining and party catering business with chef Evan Holliday. He said: “In the little time I have off, I run a private catering business with one of my colleagues. I also love football and used to play lots when younger.”
