Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton recently responded to a fan’s casual request for a “photo dump” with a short but promising message. The exchange occurred on X (formerly Twitter), where Hamilton often engages with his global fanbase.
As Hamilton gears up for the upcoming British Grand Prix at Silverstone—his home race and his first with Ferrari—a fan commented under one of his posts, asking for a collection of photos from his recent experiences. Hamilton, staying true to his reputation for connecting with fans, simply replied:
“Working on it.”
Looking Ahead to Silverstone
The British GP, set for Sunday, July 6, will mark a significant moment for Hamilton. In 2024, he ended a two-year winless streak by taking a memorable victory at Silverstone. Now, in 2025, he returns to the iconic circuit as a Ferrari driver, aiming to recapture the magic in front of his home crowd once more.
A Season of Transition
Hamilton’s move to Scuderia Ferrari in early 2025 shocked the motorsport world. Welcomed enthusiastically in Maranello, he began a new chapter with high expectations. However, the transition has come with challenges. While teammate Charles Leclerc has secured four podium finishes, Hamilton is yet to make it into the top three in a Grand Prix this season.
Although his results have been inconsistent, Hamilton claimed a sprint race win in China earlier this year. Recently, Ferrari introduced a floor upgrade at the Austrian Grand Prix, where Hamilton finished P4 and Leclerc P3. Despite the upgrade being relatively minor, Hamilton expressed optimism about the team’s trajectory.
Hamilton Reflects on Progress
In a post-race interview with Racingnews365, Hamilton shared his thoughts:
“I think we moved forwards. I think the upgrade was quite small, so we didn’t really know [about it]; they didn’t even mention any time, because it was that small. But I think perhaps that was a bigger result from putting the floor on, so that’s a real positive. Really great to see the team bringing the upgrade and us moving forwards; being the second fastest, getting third and fourth is a real positive.”
Current Standings
With 91 points, Lewis Hamilton currently sits sixth in the Drivers’ Championship, while Leclerc holds fifth place with 119 points. As the season continues, fans are hopeful that Hamilton will find his rhythm and return to the podium—perhaps as early as Silverstone.
Until then, the photo dump remains a work in progress.
