Bella Di Conza, an agriculture student, is making waves as a contestant on the 2026 season of MasterChef Australia. In her final year of study, Bella has found that her academic journey has not only grounded her in practical skills but also fueled her passion for pursuing a culinary career.
Growing up in Melbourne with her younger sister and older brother, Bella’s culinary interests blossomed under the nurturing influence of her mother, Lindy, and her paternal grandmother, Nonna Maddalena. Nonna Maddalena, originally from Campania in southern Italy, played a pivotal role in shaping Bella’s love for cooking. Bella recalls her Nonna’s home as a haven where time seemed to slow down, allowing for the enjoyment of cooking and savoring delicious meals.
At the tender age of nine, Bella began a lifelong project aimed at preserving her family’s culinary legacy. She started documenting her Nonna’s cherished recipes and filming their cooking sessions together. These recipes, handed down through generations from Nonna’s own mother and grandmother, underscore the deep-rooted importance of family traditions and heritage.
