Frankie Ratford Biography – Frankie Ratford Wiki

Meet Frankie Ratford, a globe-trotting graphic and interior designer with a flair for dopamine décor, who is now making waves as a contestant on the BBC’s Interior Design Masters 2026. Originally hailing from the idyllic New Forest, Frankie embarked on her adventure to Australia at just 18, where she launched a worldwide career mentoring young graduates. In 2009, she founded her own company, showcasing her talent and creativity on a global stage.

With a passport stamped from over 100 countries, Frankie thrives on renovating unique homes across the globe. Her love for small-space living is evident in her passion for vans, having transformed 11 vehicles into cozy, personalized mobile homes. These compact creations reflect her innovative approach to design and her resourceful spirit.

After dedicating two decades to graphic design, Frankie took a bold step in 2025, shifting her focus to interiors and branding for both personal and client projects. This new chapter in her career highlights her versatility and commitment to exploring new horizons.

Interior Design Masters 2026

Frankie is now one of the ten talented designers competing in the seventh series of Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr on BBC One. The show challenges participants to reinvent eight stunning spaces, ranging from charming beach huts to majestic castle hotels. Interior design expert Michelle Ogundehin leads the judging panel, joined weekly by a lineup of guest judges.

Her decision to join Interior Design Masters was driven by a desire to venture beyond her comfort zone. In a candid interview with the BBC, Frankie admitted, “I have never wanted to be on TV, so this whole experience has been very outside my comfort zone! I couldn’t resist the idea of having a bunch of fun spaces to design, a van, a budget, a painter, and a carpenter on hand. Literally my dream scenario! So, I applied, went off to hike the Camino De Santiago, and then got in!”

Frankie describes her design style as “Colour, Joy, Play.” She is obsessed with colour drenching. She added: “I hate a white wall and for me, there is never enough colour. I completely disagree with Pantone’s colour of the year – white is not a colour in my opinion! I’m on a mission to create fun, playful spaces with the use of bold confident colours. More is more!”
