Molly McGrath Biography
Molly Anne McGrath is an American sportscaster and studio host who is currently working as a sideline reporter for ESPN’s college football and college basketball telecasts. Previously, Anne worked as a sideline reporter for XFL on ABC.
McGrath was born in San Francisco and grew up in Burlingame, California, United States. She attended St. Ignatius College Preparatory and graduated in 2007. Afterward, she furthered her education at Boston College where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Broadcast Journalism in 2011. While at college, McGrath was captain of the cheerleading team and earned the athletic director’s award for academic excellence all four years. Aside from that, she also interned at NESN and WHDH-TV.
Soon after graduating, Molly worked at ESPN as a production assistant. Also, she was in charge of producing highlights, logging play-by-plays, and other various tasks for ESPN shows. Prior to joining CSNNE, Molly also worked as a host of Celtics Now for Comcast SportsNet New England. She worked as a web reporter and in-arena host for the Boston Celtics. On top of that, she handles the edited daily updates, exclusive interviews, and other packages for the Celtics’ team website.
Molly started working for Fox Sports in 2013 as an anchor. Thereafter, she was promoted to work as a co-host and anchor on the daily sports highlight show, America’s Pregame alongside Mike Hill. Apart from that, she also covered games for the NFL on Fox. Likewise, Molly served as the sideline reporter for Fox College Football and Fox College Basketball.
In 2016, McGrath returned back to ESPN as a college sports sideline reporter and co-host of College Football Live. While there she worked together with Mack Brown and Adam Amin on the sidelines of ESPN College Football Friday Primetime games. Moreover, she also hosted various shows and covered a number of bowl games like the Orange Bowl, Outback Bowl, Texas Bowl, and Las Vegas Bowl. From 2018 to 2019, Molly covered the weekly Big Ten Super Tuesday college basketball match-up with Dave Flemming and Dan Dakich.
Furthermore, she covers two college football games that include ESPN College Football Thursday Primetime with Adam Amin, and ESPN/ABC Saturday games with Steve Levy, Brian Griese, and Todd McShay. In 2020, she joined the second season of the XFL coverage. Additionally, she appeared in the television broadcast of the College Football Playoff National Championship in Indianapolis. Besides that, she was also present throughout the 2021 season alongside Sean McDonough and Todd Blackledge.
