A reality TV star and university dropout who made a fortune selling wearable blankets has been mocked as out of touch over a virtual tour of his new $4.3million home.

Shark Tank judge Davie Fogarty, 28, worth an estimated $250million mainly from his Oodie brand, showed off his jaw-dropping Adelaide Hills oasis in a video posted to social media.

The first thing Mr Fogarty mentioned in the clip as he introduced his enviable new retreat-like property was its price tag.

The ‘tone-deaf’ video comes as Australia is reeling from a cost of living crisis driven by soaring inflation, rising interest rates and sky-high costs for renters.

‘I just bought this new $4.3million farm. It’s actually located up in the Adelaide Hills.’

A beaming Mr Fogarty, who gives business advice in his aspirational videos, was so determined to snap up the farm he didn’t even his previous property first.

‘I was actually looking for a house, then I saw this but as soon as I came up here I was like I’m 100 per cent gonna buy this.’

Last month Mr Fogarty listed the beachside, four-bedroom Glenelg home he bought in 2020 for $2.7million.

Wandering through the main house of his new property, he highlighted the reading/meditation room and country-style kitchen, even name-checking his ‘beautiful Aga oven’.

‘This is the kitchen. I think it’s French modern style, but I’m not 100 per cent sure.’

Aga ovens are a modern classic, but are estimated to use 30 times the energy of an ordinary gas oven, leading to many owners ripping them out as power prices surge.

Mr Fogarty even introduced followers to his two pygmy goats, Toasty and Fleece, and is even shown cuddling a large white rabbit.

The property also has a ceramic workshop, outdoor bath, a chapel-like building and pool.

‘I do feel like this is the last thing that I wanted and really needed in my life,’ Mr Fogarty said.

‘I’m just gonna enjoy it and find a bit of peace up here as well.’

‘Ahh, there goes the last semi-relatable CEO,’ on person wrote.

Another joked: ‘Yeah dude I’m always reading by the fireplace and doing meditation in my $4.3m house. We should totally hang out some time.’

Others mocked the entrepreneur for being ‘out of touch’ during Australia’s cost of living crunch.

‘I can’t afford an Oodie,’ one person wrote.

Another joked: ‘I just brought $2 mini hotdogs from Aldi.’

A third added: ‘Legit just scrapped a bunch of coins together to buy a $1 coffee in 7 Eleven.’

It is estimated Mr Fogarty has turned over more than $500million since launching his brand five years ago at just 23.

But not everyone was so harsh.

‘The house is lovely but those baby goats are something else,’ one woman wrote.

‘The serenity, absolutely beautiful,’ said another.

He began with an iPhone case business, tried his hand at personal training, and attempted a seasoning business and a Vietnamese roll shop.

He then found success selling weighted blankets before coming up with the Oodie design and brand.
