Remembering Frida Kahlo Death

At the age of 47, Frida Kahlo passed away on July 13, 1954, at her house in Mexico, although some people believe that there were hidden suicide notes left behind.

Although she has been dead for a long time, you have probably seen her everywhere—on socks, tote bags, and even dishware.  Frida Kahlo death has always been a mystery for everyone.

One of the most renowned artists of the 20th century, Frida Kahlo, is known for her distinctive style and distinctive works of art.

The declared cause of death for Frida Kahlo was pulmonary embolism, although there was no autopsy, and some people think she may have overdosed.

Conspiracy theories surrounding Frida Kahlo’s death grew rapidly, as they do with many renowned people, and they fascinated the public almost as much as her existence did.

This is the actual account of Frida Kahlo’s passing. Kahlo skillfully incorporated her innermost emotions and personal insights into her artwork.

The renowned Mexican artist passed away on July 13, 1954, at the age of 47, despite producing a notable collection of work.

What Happened To Her And How Did She Die?

Kahlo had her leg amputated from the knee down in 1953 due to complications from one of the numerous operations she had undergone.

As she grew older, her health deteriorated, which was made worse by Kahlo’s extensive use of painkillers and drinking habits. Throughout her final days, Kahlo’s health progressively deteriorated.

Her final piece, Self-Portrait Inside a Sunflower (1954), which lacks the exact brushstrokes that usually set her work apart, shows signs of her waning vigor.

Kahlo, however, continued to work until the very end.

A few days before she passed away, Kahlo summoned the energy to use her wheelchair to attend a protest against the CIA-backed takeover of Guatemala’s democratically elected president, Jacobo Arbenz.

Kahlo passed away at the age of 47 on July 13, 1954, just a few days after the protest. Although a pulmonary embolism was given as Frida Kahlo’s official cause of death, questions still linger.

Her real cause of death was shrouded in mystery due to the hasty cremation and incomplete autopsy.

Early Life Of Frida Kahlo

Kahlo was drawn to art at a young age, learning how to draw from printmaker Fernando Fernández and jotting down sketches in sketchbooks.

She started working outside of school in 1925 to support her family. She briefly worked as a stenographer before joining Fernández as a paid engraving apprentice.

Although she did not view art as a vocation at the time, he was amazed by her talent. Kahlo suffered terrible bus injuries when she was 18 and has had chronic pain ever since.

Following the injury, Kahlo was forced to spend three months in bed and started painting. She began to think about a job combining her talents in science and art: that of a medical illustrator.

Her father loaned her some of his oil paints, and her mother gave her a specially designed easel so she could paint in bed. Above the easel, she had a mirror set up so she could see herself.

She will always be remembered. Rest in peace, Frida Kahlo.
