Russell Henley wrapped up the 2025 Open Championship with a strong performance, finishing nine under par and sharing 10th place with Bryson DeChambeau, Corey Conners, and Brian Harman—eight shots behind the champion, Scottie Scheffler.

Henley opened the tournament on Thursday, July 17, with a one-over 72, posting even-par 36s on both the front and back nines. A solid second-round 70 on Friday moved him to one under overall, as two birdies balanced out a bogey on each side of the card.

Following the event, Henley shared a post on Instagram featuring a photo of himself at Royal Portrush. In the caption, he wrote:

“A solid week in Portrush. Surprisingly great weather, a beautiful golf course, and some of the best scenery in the world. Congratulations to Scottie! He strikes the balance that many of us are trying to achieve out here. He is a great champion, but he knows his victory is already secure before he ever steps out on the course.”

Saturday turned out to be Henley’s best round of the week, as he shot a six-under 65—the joint-lowest score of the day. He carded birdies at the 3rd, 7th, and 8th on the front nine for a 33, followed by three more birdies and an eagle on the par-5 12th for a back-nine 32, jumping into the top 15 at seven under.

Henley entered Sunday just two shots outside the top ten and closed with an impressive three-under 68. His final round included a 35 on the front nine and a bogey-free 33 on the back, with birdies at the 11th and 16th.

He finished with rounds of 72-70-65-68 for a total score of 275 on the par-71 Dunluce Links. The result marked his second-best Open finish, earned him valuable world ranking points, and highlighted a season where he posted top-10 finishes in two of the four Majors.
