Saffron Hodgson is an Interior Designer and contestant on MasterChef UK 2024. She is the founder and owner of Saffron Hodgson Interiors, an Interior design studio based in Edinburgh and London. She had stints at Crocus Design, Ampersand Interiors, Pierre Frey, and Dovecot Studio.
Saffron told the BBC about her earliest cooking memory: “I have key moments in my life when I remember discovering new flavours. The main one that sticks out is when I went to Singapore at age 12 and tasted coriander with chicken satay – I was completely blown away.”
She said about her style of cooking: “I love cherry picking from many styles of cooking. When cooking for my family, warming dishes (probably with too much butter) feature heavily, but when having friends over for supper I tend to go for more colourful Ottolenghi-style sharing dishes. If I had to sum it up, I’d say it’s comfort food with spices.”
Saffron studied Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Apparel and Textiles at Birmingham City University. She completed her education with a postgraduate course in interior architecture at the Inchbald School of Design.
