Shelbi Schauble is carving a niche for herself in meteorology as a weathercaster at KSN, delivering morning forecasts for KSN 16/KODE 12 in Joplin, Missouri. Since stepping into the field in the summer of 2024, Shelbi has adeptly navigated a range of weather phenomena, from tornado alerts to historic snowfalls.
A native of Stevenson Ranch, California, Shelbi completed her secondary education at West Ranch High School. She then pursued higher education at UCLA, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs in 2023. Her passion for the weather led her to embark on a meteorology journey, enrolling in a three-year broadcast meteorology certificate program at Mississippi State University that same summer.
Currently, Shelbi is advancing her studies online at Mississippi State University, focusing on Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences. She is on track to earn her broadcast meteorology certification by August 2026 and plans to gain accreditation from the National Weather Association.

Shelbi’s athletic pursuits began early, encouraged by her father, Chris, a seasoned marathoner and triathlete who has completed three Ironman events, including the prestigious Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
During her tenure at West Ranch High School, Shelbi excelled in athletics, participating in cross country for three seasons from 2015 to 2017, and in track & field in 2018 and 2019. She distinguished herself as the Foothill League triple jump champion twice, achieving a leap of 36-4.5 in 2019 and 36-7.5 in 2018.
As a senior, she notched a season-best effort of 1.62m (38-1) at the Trevor Habberstad Inivte, placing first. She also competed in the long jump, 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay.
At UCLA, Shelbi competed in track & field. She competed in one meet for the Bruins in 2021 and earned the victory in the triple jump at the Rafer/JJK Invite with a mark of 10.58m (34-08.50).
