While I once believed that Sister Wives stars Meri and Robyn Brown would never rekindle their friendship, my perspective has shifted. Season 19 of Sister Wives, split into two parts with a hiatus in between, tackled major emotional events. The first half focused on Kody Brown’s fractured relationships with his ex-wives—Meri, Janelle, and Christine—as they worked to untangle shared finances and emotional baggage. The second half explored the family’s grief following the tragic passing of Garrison Brown, son of Kody and Janelle.

Now that the season 19 Tell All is airing, discussions around Meri have surfaced. While some topics remained off-limits for Kody and Robyn, Meri was not one of them. After watching the family evolve through countless ups and downs, I’m starting to believe that the long-standing tension between Meri and Robyn could soften.

Meri & Robyn’s Friendship Is Complicated

Years Of Highs And Lows

Meri once shared a strong bond with Robyn, especially in Robyn’s early days in the family. They were confidants, and Robyn had even offered to carry a child for Meri if she chose to expand her family. Over time, however, cracks formed in their relationship. Robyn’s perceived favoritism from Kody and her failure to follow through on promises created a rift.

According to Meri’s best friend, Jenn Sullivan, Robyn often presented herself as a supportive friend, but would later act in ways that left Meri feeling isolated and hurt.

By the end of season 19, Robyn expressed sadness over the state of their relationship, while Meri seemed determined to move forward independently. During the Tell All, the topic of reconciliation came up. Robyn appeared open to rekindling their connection, whereas Meri hesitated, saying:

“I don’t know how to be friends with my ex-husband’s wife.”

Still, Meri has a deeply nostalgic nature. She held on to her marriage with Kody long after it had emotionally ended. I think this same attachment may prevent her from fully letting go of her bond with Robyn.

Meri & Kody Are On Good Terms Again

Another reason I believe Meri and Robyn might reunite as friends is Meri’s improved relationship with Kody. During the Tell All, both confirmed they are on good terms.

“My favorite ex-wife,” Kody said playfully.

Since Kody and Robyn remain close, and Robyn reportedly still hopes the family can one day be more united, I suspect Kody’s ongoing friendship with Meri will influence Robyn. Considering the emotional history between Robyn and Meri, and Meri’s renewed dynamic with Kody in 2025, it seems likely that Meri’s cool stance toward Robyn will eventually thaw.

It Could Stir Up Old Tensions

Although I now believe a reconciliation is possible, that doesn’t mean I think it’s in Meri’s best interest. Years of unresolved resentment remain between the two. Meri has worked hard to detach from Kody and the emotional baggage connected to their former plural marriage.

Getting close to Robyn again may pull her back into an emotionally draining dynamic. While Robyn might benefit by appearing more united and supportive, Meri may be at risk of reopening old wounds. In my view, Robyn has more to gain—and Meri has more to lose.
