Skeng Biography
Skeng (born Kevon Douglas) is a Jamaican dancehall musician, singer, and songwriter. His real name is Kevon Douglas. Recently, he was arrested at Norman Manley International airport in Kingston. He was removed from a flight and was charged with disorderly behavior and resisting arrest. Om June 21, 2022, he was released on bail and asked to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew court.
During his arrest, his lawyer said that a security officer behaved rudely to which Skeng replied that there wasn’t any need for the officer to behave that way. He said that the matter was an abuse of power and that his client felt abused and threatened by airport security.
Additionally, he began his music career in 2019 when he openly expressed his love for music and the arts. He is a well-known DJ in the music industry due to his songs. While he was young, he has a dream of being a journalist but later dropped that idea since it involved a lot of talking. His passion was influenced by an ongoing music battle between Gully’s Mavado and Gaza’s Vybz Kartell. After this music battle, he recorded his music in a New Kingston studio and later recorded more than 30 songs.
Skeng is popularly known for hitting the 2021 single Gunman Shift. Moreover, his most popular tracks are Brrp and Street Card. During his growing up, he attended numerous schools. He has studied at Sen Simon Basic School, St. George College, and Wolmer’s High School for boys. Many people wondered why he attended several schools and while he was speaking to a news outlet, he explained that:
In the third form, I became a little rebellious and wanted to do things my way. I landed myself into trouble and was transferred to St. George. After that, I continued to be carefree and had to move to a Spanish town. That time was very challenging.
