Steven Tyler Biography
Steven Tyler is an American singer popular for being the lead singer of Aerosmith, a Boston-based rock band, where he plays the piano, harmonica, and percussion. Nevertheless, Tyler is also known as the Demon of Screaming for his high screams and wide vocal range.
Steven attended Theodore Roosevelt High School on Tuckahoe Road in Yonkers, New York a mile from his house. Nevertheless, he was expelled before his graduation due to the use of marijuana. Later on, Steven attended and graduated from Quintano’s School for Young Professionals.
Tyler is always seen to be energetic for his incredible on-stage acrobatics. However, after his rehabilitation in 1986, Aerosmith rose to fame after the remake of Walk This by Tyler, Joe Perry, and Run-DMC.
The band launched a comeback with multi-platinum albums like Permanent Vacation, Pump, Get a Grip, and Nine Lives which were featured in the Top 40 singles with combined 13 songs. The band has also won numerous awards. Aerosmith has four Grammy Awards in the category of Best Rock Performance by a Duo. They won with vocals for the songs Janie’s Got a Gun in 1990, Livin’ on the Edge in 1993, Crazy in 1994, and Pink in 1999.
Tyler was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside his band in 2013. Aerosmith had a $30 million US dollar contract for 4 records with Columbia Records in 1972 and Sony Music in 1991. They also had a deal with Geffen Records at a point. In addition, Tyler is also one of the 100 greatest singers in Rolling Stone. He was ranked third in the Hit Parader’s magazine Top 100 Metal Vocalists.
He also received the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) founders Award along with his songwriting partner Joe Perry. Tyler also launched the Dirico Motorcycles on the 15th of September, 2007 at New Hampshire International Speedway. The bikes were designed by Tyler and engineered by Mark Dirico and later built by AC Custom Motorcycles in Manchester, New Hampshire.
