Brandi Smith, celebrated for her warmth and humor, was actively involved in her son’s life. Family members described her as a joyful person who valued her loved ones deeply.
“She was a happy person. A good person all around,”
said James Lewis, her cousin.

A Community in Mourning
Friends and family struggled to reconcile the tragedy with the family they knew. Kyree Beamon, Trevor’s best friend, called them “one of the best families I knew” and said they treated him like a son.
“Trevor isn’t a bad person. He made some bad decisions, and he’ll suffer the consequences, but that’s not all he was,”
Beamon added.
Ongoing Investigation and Legal Proceedings
Authorities confirmed the gun used belonged to the parents and was left at the scene. Trevor faces two counts of second-degree murder, with prosecutors considering whether to charge him as an adult.
