News about Tyler Sullivan pedophile has been trending after he raped a 12-year-old girl.
The court expressed concern that the guy’s “slight and childlike appearance” would make him a target for sexual predators when he sentenced the man, who sexually assaulted a kid he met online, to 12 months in prison.
Two years ago, when Tyler Sullivan was 20, he sneaked into the 12-year-old victim’s bedroom and raped her while her mother slept in the adjacent room.
Sullivan, now 22, had initially gained the trust of the primary school youngster online by pretending to be a 14-year-old lad. He then took an Uber across Melbourne to her house.

The victim’s mother, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said her daughter was assaulted when she was 12 years old and a first-grader. She said, “I can never restore her innocence; it was stolen.”
“This is a kid who was doing kid things like playing netball in sixth grade, her last year of elementary school, and looking forward to starting high school.”
Tyler would be seriously at risk of being targeted in jail; Judge Richard Maidment warned the court during trial hearings in May since he appeared younger than his actual age.
When delivering the punishment in County Court on Thursday, Maidment rebuked Sullivan while admitting that Tyler had mental health issues, including social anxiety, depression, and personality disorder.

The judge added that when deciding on the punishment, he had considered Sullivan’s safety in jail. The judge also considered Sullivan’s appearance and how he might fare in jail.
“You set out to deceive her,” he said, “you knew from the first online contact that your first victim was 12 years old and that what you were doing was illegal and morally wrong.”
“Sexual predators you might come across in a prison environment are likely to find Sullivan’s slight and childlike appearance attractive.”

He has been identified as a prominent figure in recent criminal history due to his conviction for the rape of a 12-year-old.
Sullivan traveled across Melbourne by rail and Uber before breaking into the girl’s house while her mother and sibling slept.
The little victim will never forget what he did to her. She found out today that her assailant, who admitted guilt to the accusation of sexual penetration of a minor under 16, which carries a potential 15-year sentence, will only serve 12 months in jail.
Sullivan won’t even serve the typical six-year prison term.
Since the accused is highly vulnerable and appears much younger than his actual age and would be housed in an adult prison, Maidment said, “I would like to get the most assistance possible for a situation where one has serious offending on the one hand, but a very vulnerable accused.”
Tyler Sullivan Arrest And Charges
After entering a guilty plea to the charges of sexually assaulting a child under 16, possessing child abuse materials, and using a carriage service for child abuse materials, Sullivan will only spend a year in prison.
Sullivan was given a 12-month sentence, but since he’s already served one month in custody, he’ll only spend 11 months in jail.
He will be subject to a three-year community corrections order beginning in July of the following year, allowing him to complete the sentence at home.

The victim’s mother claimed they had hoped for Victoria’s maximum punishment of 15 years.
“This is my kid on my shoulder; she is the sufferer; nothing about her well-being was spoken. She added that it took all of my willpower to control my rage in that courtroom.
“Justice is all I seek. Since my kid must deal with this for the rest of her life, I pray and hope she experiences some normalcy and has healthy relationships.
