Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton has suffered a significant setback after sustaining an Achilles injury during the team’s heartbreaking Game 7 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2025 NBA Finals. The news was confirmed by ESPN’s Shams Charania on Monday via X.

Charania reported that Haliburton tore his right Achilles tendon during Sunday’s decisive matchup. The two-time All-Star had already been playing through a calf strain in the same leg throughout the Finals, battling through pain in an effort to help lead the Pacers to their first NBA championship.

Despite his efforts, Indiana fell short as the Thunder claimed a 103–91 victory to secure the 2025 NBA title. The injury marks a devastating end to a remarkable postseason run for Haliburton and the Pacers, who now face an uncertain future with their star player potentially sidelined for an extended period.
