Jenny Racicot Biography – Jenny Racicot Wiki
Jenny Racicot, a 41-year-old resident of Maine and former romantic partner of Graham Platner, has accused the Democratic U.S. Senate candidate of sexual assault in a recent article by Politico. This allegation is the most severe in a series of controversies surrounding Platner’s campaign, which also includes reports of unsettling behavior towards former partners.
Racicot described an on-and-off relationship with Platner, who is currently the Democratic Senate nominee in Maine, lasting over two years. The incident in question occurred in late 2021 when Platner allegedly entered her rural home uninvited while heavily intoxicated and forced himself on her, ignoring her repeated demands to stop. She ended all contact after informing him that the encounter had been non-consensual.
Platner, in response, has categorically denied these allegations. In a statement to Politico, he asserted, “These allegations are troubling, serious, and false. Any accusation of non-consensual behavior is categorically untrue.”
Prior to this, Racicot had spoken with The New York Times in June 2026 about an uninvited visit from Platner in 2021, though she did not provide further details at the time. She explained that his conduct had been “reckless” and “unsettling” and led her to cease communication. Conflict arose over coming forward with her complete story, as she aligns politically with Platner’s views.
In a video posted to X on July 6, 2026, Platner indicated that he and his campaign team are considering their next steps thoughtfully. The timing of this allegation has raised eyebrows, occurring just a week before Maine’s ballot deadline. Platner’s campaign suggested the timing was intentional, noting similar accusations had emerged shortly before the primary election. The campaign has attributed these allegations to being “coached and coordinated by out-of-state establishment operatives.”
