Vanessa Furci is an oncology nurse, baker and a contestant on The Great Australian Bake Off 2025. She grew up in an Italian family whose lives revolved around cooking in the kitchen. Her earliest memories are preparing food with her late grandmother who she was very close to.
Vanessa loves the challenge of baking and learning new things, she particularly enjoys things that require stunning and intricate decorations. A whirlwind of energy, Vanessa moves at the speed of light in the kitchen.
Vanessa is an oncology nurse at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia. She’s worked at Peter Mac since 2016. She works with the Peter Mac @ Home team, travelling across Melbourne to deliver cancer care in people’s homes. Speaking about her work, she said: “I absolutely love it. The relationships you build with patients, the chance to bring care to where they feel most comfortable — it’s incredibly rewarding.”

There’s just something about that shed that fills me with so much joy, it’s where I could bake my heart out and create things I never thought possible! I am so lucky to be amongst these talented bakers.”
