Younis, who is 22 years and 15 days old, is the youngest Test skipper in history as well as the youngest captain from Pakistan as of 2021.

Waqar Younis Missing Finger: What Is Wrong With His Hand?

He lost his “little finger” in an accident. According to former captain Waqar Younis, he and his cousins would frequently take midday baths in the canal. 

He dropped to the ground and broke free from my hand. Waseem Akram revealed in the A Sports program that Waqar Younis missed an easy catch during a match, which is related to his missing finger. 

He pointed out where the catch was located with this finger. Additionally, Waqar Younis acknowledged, “Maybe I made this excuse for missing the catch because it’s an old thing.” 

The former fast bowler claimed that when he would show his hands to tiny children while they were playing, they would frequently notice that one finger was missing while he showed them the other hand, which was complete. 

Wasim Akram questioned Wahab Riaz, saying, “Why have you been sleeping for three years?” when Wahab Riaz revealed that he did not realize he had four fingers. 

Waqar’s brother, Misbah-ul-Haq, stated, “The ball will go out of hand when you are fielding, so the loss will be to other bowlers, not you.”  

Early And Personal Life Of Waqar Younis 

Younis was born into a Punjabi Jat family in Burewala, the Vehari district of Punjab, Pakistan. 

He had attended the Pakistan Islamia School in Sharjah, the Government College in Burewala, Pakistan, and the Sadiq Public School in Bahawalpur, Pakistan. 

His father was a contract worker, and he grew up in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. When he was a teenager, he returned to Pakistan and began playing cricket there. He was known as the Burewala Express because he would travel to Burewala to play cricket.

He was what he calls an all-around athlete in his school and college years, competing in several sports as a runner, javelin thrower, high jumper, and pole vaulter. Before deciding on pace bowling, he was a leg-spinner.

He has been wed to Faryal, an Australian doctor of Pakistani descent, since 2000. The couple lives in Castle Hill, New South Wales, Australia. They are parents to three children: a son and two girls.

Younis has provided sports commentary on television for Ten Sports in the United Arab Emirates and the Nine Network in Australia.
