Austin William Lanz from Georgia has been identified as a suspect in the stabbing and death of a Pentagon police officer. Is he dead or arrested?

On August 3, a police officer was stabbed outside the Pentagon’s headquarters by a man named Austin William Lanz.

Following that, the investigators shot the suspect, who died on the spot.

After the incident outside the building’s metro entrance, the Pentagon, the United States military’s headquarters, was temporarily closed on lockdown 

The violence broke out a busy stretch of the Washington area’s transportation system.

Pentagon Stabbing Suspect: Austin William Lanz

Austin William Lanz, a Georgia resident, is the main suspect in the stabbing death of a police officer.

An officer died after being attacked at the transit station just outside the Pentagon on Tuesday at 10:30 am. 

From the back of the neck, the cop was stabbed. While fleeing from the police, the suspect who stabbed the officer was shot at the transit station.

Moreover, investigators also attempted to determine why Lanz would kill the cop. They also attempted to determine whether he was suffering from a mental disorder.

Austin William’s current age is 27 years old.

More than this his birth dates are not mentioned as of now.

Austin William Lanz Bio 

After several investigations, it was found out that Austin William Lanz was enlisted in Marine Corps in 2012 but was ‘administratively separated’ in less than a month after.

However, he was never given the rank of Marine. The Marine Corps issued a statement.

Austin appears to be envious of the military department because he was never given his own title.

Is Austin William Lanz Arrested or Dead? 

Austin William Lanz is dead; he was killed by a law enforcement officer at the Pentagon.

Similarly, according to the online court records, Lanz was also arrested in April in Cobb Country, Georgia, on criminal trespassing and burglary allegations.

On the same day, he was charged with six more counts in a different criminal case. Two counts of aggravated violence on police, one count of making terrorist threats, and one act of rioting in a penal institution.

Following that incident, the judge reduced his bond to $30000 and released him in May, with the condition that he not use illicit substances and undergo a mental health examination.  The charges against him are still pending.
