Dr. Griffiths was born in Glen Cove, New York, on July 19, 1946. Although he had always been interested in psychology, in 1994, he had a life-changing meditation experience that made him more open to spiritual encounters. 

At a time when few other scientists were interested in the subject, he redirected his professional attention to investigating psychedelics. 

His numerous investigations paved the way for using these drugs to treat various diseases, such as depression, addiction, and anxiety in cancer patients.

In 2022, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 terminal cancer and took his first psychedelic. He used LSD, gushed about the amazing experience, and felt inspired to spread his message and celebration of life to everyone. 

Griffiths was typically reticent and kept his personal affairs private. However, he was persuaded to modify his opinion by the message he heard while traveling. ‘Yeah, you’re going to die, but this is as it should be,’ was the response.
