Thomas “Tom” Arden, 31, is a creative entrepreneur, baker and a contestant on The Great British Bake Off (GBBO) 2025. He grew up in London and learnt to bake scones and flapjacks alongside his mum and Danish grandmother.

As a teen, Tom feared his secret love of baking would out him. Now, a member of two queer sports teams and with a boyfriend of three years, the game may be up.

Having stepped back from the advertising agency he set up, he’s recently reconnected with his first love, food, and brings a creative flair to his beautifully presented bakes.

Tom grew up in a food obsessed family and when not working you can find him fishing for Sea Bass with his brother, foraging for mushrooms and cooking roasts with his dad.

31-year-old Tom Arden is one of the bakers competing in the 16th season of The Great British Bake Off on Channel 4. The bakers will be competing against each other in the famous baking tent, under the watchful eyes of judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, alongside presnters Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding.

Speaking to Channel 4 about his baking skills, he admitted his biggest weakness is timing, but he thrives in creativity. “I think my strength is that I have less traditional baking experience so I come up with some ideas that seem pretty random but when done well (which is clearly not all the time), people seem to really like the concepts and flavours.”
