Danny Serafini is making rounds online after the news of his arrest was shared. He was detained on October 20, 2023, in connection to the June 2021 killing of Robert Spohr and the attempted murder of Wendy Wood in Lake Tahoe, California.

According to a news release from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, Serafini was arrested in Winnemucca, Nevada. In addition to that, Samantha Scott was also arrested in Las Vegas.

Serafini was the son-in-law of the victims. Serafini and Scott, both facing murder and attempted murder charges, were waiting to be sent back to Placer County, as stated by the sheriff’s office.

On June 5, 2021, the police received a call from a home in North Lake Tahoe, California, near the Nevada border. They discovered the body of Robert Gary Spohr, aged 70, with a single gunshot wound, as reported by the sheriff’s office.

His wife, Wendy Wood Spohr, 68, was shot and taken to the hospital. She later recovered but sadly passed away a year later, as mentioned by the sheriff’s office in their news release.
Video footage from the home revealed a man wearing a hood, face mask, and a backpack just before the incident, according to the sheriffs.
