Elon Musk fires Twitter top executives

Elon Musk has entered Twitter by swinging axes at three top executives of the social media platform.

The 51-year-old billionaire sacked Twitter Inc. Chief Executive Officer Parag Agrawal, Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal, and the Head of Legal, Policy, and Trust; Vijaya Gadde.

In addition, the general counsel of the organization, Sean Edgett who joined Twitter in 2012 is among the people who have officially departed from the company.

Moreover, Musk himself is expected to take the role of Twitter’s new CEO following the acquisition of the microblogging service.

Elon Musk and Parag Agrawal exchange public swipes

Earlier this year, in May Elon Musk, tweeted a poop emoji to a Twitter thread from Parag Agrawal where he is seemingly defending the company’s user metrics.

Later, it was revealed that the two executives had a contentious text exchange during the deal process.

Additionally, Musk mocked Agrawal for taking a holiday to Hawaii during deal negotiations while talking with his friend.

In the text exchange, investor Jason Calacanis messaged Musk saying, ‘Shouldn’t he be in a war room right now?!?’

The Boring Company founder on the other hand replied with, ‘Does doing occasional zoom calls while drinking fruity cocktails at the Four Seasons count?’

Elon Musk takes control of Twitter

Elon Musk walked into the headquarters of Twitter earlier this week carrying a porcelain sink. Subsequently, he shared a tweet saying, ‘Entering Twitter HQ – let that sink in!’

Moreover, the Tesla chief even updated the description on the social media platform which now reads, ‘Chief Twit.’

Furthermore, some employees have left the organization as they don’t prefer to work for Musk. The news of Musk running Twitter raised concerns among activists.

However, Musk assured them claiming that the service, ‘cannot become a free-for-all hellscape where anything can be said with no consequences.’

He said in a message, ‘The reason I acquired Twitter is that it is important to the future of civilization to have a common digital town square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy manner, without resorting to violence.’

Musk continued, ‘There is currently great danger that social media will splinter into far right wing and far left-wing echo chambers that generate more hate and divide our society.’
