Both Mother Rene and Father Bill Haney are Devin Haney’s Parents

The 17th of November, 1998 found Devin being born to his parents, Rene and Bill, in San Francisco, California; however, he spent a portion of his childhood in Oakland, California. He was reared by his parents jointly up until the time that they made the decision to divorce. As a direct consequence of this, when Haney was just 14 years old, he relocated to Las Vegas with his father.

People were quite interested in learning more about his parents while he was coming to prominence, but his followers from the beginning already knew the young boxer dad. Since the beginning of his career as a boxer, Bill has been by the side of his client, who is the uncontested champion, in his role as head trainer.

Therefore, his father was said to have been spotted with him, while people were also actively searching for his mother to be found. Even though Wikipedia contains information on the lightweight champion, no information about his mother could be found. In spite of this, he has shown her a few pictures that are posted on his verified Instagram account, which has more than 1.4 million followers.

Deven Haney’s Father

Devin’s Father Bill to enter Australia on a visa was declined.

After the bout between Haney and George, Kambosos was planned in Australia. However, there was an issue with the team since the fighter’s father and the head coach were denied entry into Australia. In addition, the government decided not to grant Bill a visa because of his previous actions.

The fight was scheduled to take place at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on June 5, 2022, and given the circumstances, it appeared that the American WBC champion would have to compete without some of his corner staff.

During the discussion with the press, the celebrity’s father disclosed that when he was the same age as his son, he engaged in some significant criminal activity, which included the use of illegal substances. As a direct consequence of this, the relevant authorities in Australia did not grant him a visa due to the drug conviction he received in his home country in 1992, and he was had to fulfill his sentence.

Deven Haney: Who Is He?

Devin Miles Haney is a professional boxer who was born in the United States on November 17, 1998. Since 2019, he has held the lightweight title for the WBC. Since June 2022, he has also held the lightweight titles for the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and Ring. This makes him the current undisputed champion. As of the month of June 2022, the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board considers him to be the finest active lightweight in the world. BoxRec and ESPN, on the other hand, have him in second place.

Career in the Working World

The battle between Haney and Harmonito Dela Torre, a Filipino boxer, was supposed to take place over the course of eight rounds on February 2, 2018. As a result of the difficulties he encountered in acquiring a visa, Dela Torre decided to pull out of the fight. Because we were unable to locate a challenger, we had to cancel the date.

Haney won a 10-round unanimous decision on January 11, 2019, thanks to his dominating performance against Xolisani Ndongeni, who was a very challenging opponent.

In the first fight Haney had under the Matchroom banner, which took place on May 25, 2019, he knocked out Antonio Moran in the seventh round of their bout and won.

After a victory over Zaur Abdullaev (11-0), which took place on September 13, 2019, Haney was awarded the vacant WBC interim lightweight title.

Lightweight Division Winner of the WBC

When Haney was elevated to the position of WBC lightweight champion in October 2019, he became the sport’s youngest (i.e. most recently born) world champion. This came about as a result of the previous WBC lightweight champion, Vasiliy Lomachenko, being promoted by the WBC to the position of “Franchise Champion.”

Haney successfully defended his championship for the first time in November 2019 against Alfredo Santiago (12-), who was fighting on the undercard of KSI vs. Logan Paul II. Haney won the fight via unanimous decision. During the battle, he sustained an injury to his shoulder, which resulted in the need for surgery. As a result, he will be sidelined until the summer of 2020. He successfully defended his title as “champion in recess.”

Statements That are Contentious in Regard to Vasiliy Lomachenko

During an interview with 78SportsTV in April of 2020, Haney stated that he had the ability to defeat Vasiliy Lomachenko, who was the undisputed lightweight champion at the time.

When it was questioned if they would, “”I’ll tell you this,” Haney responded, “put an end to all the Loma hysteria. In my entire life, I will never suffer defeat at the hands of a white boy. It makes no difference to me what anyone has to say. If you have me fight a white lad ten times, I will win every single one of those bouts.” This racially insensitive remark made by Haney drew criticism. After that, Haney made a statement on Twitter, saying “I do not harbor racist views, nor do I ever intend to do so. I’m striving to achieve greatness.” In addition to this, he stated that he had a conversation with the president of the WBC, Mauricio Sulaimán, and “reaffirmed to him directly my willingness to be a role model and my utter rejection of discrimination of any type.”  The statements made by Haney were contrasted to those made by Bernard Hopkins before his battle with Joe Calzaghe, in which Hopkins was defeated. Hopkins had said that he would “never allow a white child beat me.”

Haney vs. Gamboa

It was announced on October 2, 2020 that Haney would be making his second defense of his WBC lightweight title on November 7, 2020 against the former unified featherweight titlist Yuriorkis Gamboa. DAZN was in charge of broadcasting the fight, which took place at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, and was seen by subscribers all over the world. The majority of those working in the media and publishing industry forecasted an uncomplicated victory for the defending champion, which was mirrored in the betting odds as well, with the majority of odds-makers placing Haney as a -5000 favorite.

Haney was declared the winner of the fight by a decisive unanimous decision. Two of the judges gave him the round victory in every single one of the bout’s rounds, and the third judge gave him the victory with a score of 118-109. In the eleventh round, Gamboa was penalized one point for holding his opponent. Haney was more effective than Gamboa in landing punches overall, 133 to 84, and in landing power punches, 82 to 63.

However, Haney senior gave his word that his son’s performance would not be negatively impacted in the event that he was unable to make it to the nation. In addition, before Devin boarded the plane to travel to the contest, he guaranteed that he would prevail by outclassing his rival.

It was barely forty hours before Bill’s son’s game when he received the good news that he would be allowed to enter the nation. Because of this, he only had a very limited amount of time to arrange a flight and get to the ring corner in time. In spite of this, he made it to Australia on time and served as a responsible coach for the fighter, guiding him to victory.

How Many Brothers and Sisters does Haney Have?

The famous musician, who is currently 23 years old, is not his parents’ only child. Bill Jr., Sean, and Arabella are his three siblings. He is the middle child. Therefore, in addition to the support he had from his parents, he also got the encouragement of other people he loved beginning at a very young age.

We believe that they have a healthy connection, and they do spend a lot of quality time together as a family, despite the fact that his siblings make an effort to avoid the attention of the public and are rarely seen with the athlete.

It seems that his loved ones have the same preference for a secluded existence as he does. As a direct consequence of this, the few photographs that exist of him with his parents do not include any of his siblings. However, internet users are looking for them and want to have a comprehensive understanding of them as well as their private lives.

Some people speculate that his brother and sister might have supported him at his matches by standing in the crowd and cheering for him. When he was only seven years old, he began his career as a boxer, and it’s possible that they were the ones who inspired him and guided him toward the achievement of their dream of being a professional champion.

Deven Haney’s Family

Boxing is very important to the undefeated lightweight boxer Devis’s family.

Devis Miles Haney is trained by his father, Bill, who had sculpted him for the matches and trained him with the strategies and abilities that turned the little boy’s dream into an unbeaten winner. Devis Miles Haney is now undefeated in his career. On the other hand, Bill is not a professional boxer himself.

When the boxer was a small child, his parents divorced, and he was raised by his mother. However, he lived with his father, and the two of them even went to Las Vegas, where he began his training and boxing career when he was only seven years old.

Because he was not granted a visa, the Australian authorities did not allow Haney’s father, Bill, to enter the country. Because it was common knowledge that he had been convicted of a drug-related offense back in 1992, he was first denied permission to participate because of this fact.

Bill is the oldest of Devis’s three siblings, and he has two younger brothers and sisters, Sean and Arabella. Devis is the middle child. On the other hand, in contrast to his father, they have avoided the public eye entirely.
