Kim admitted to the audience that, like many other women, she had been involved in an abusive and toxic relationship that assaulted her and made her feel less in love.
In 2005, she also stated in a radio program that her ex-boyfriend resulted in her having her nose smashed, time and again, and hurting her in other ways as well.
She admitted that she had to repair her nose several times and every time after treatment, he would strike her again, sending her into a tailspin of doubts and self-loathing.
Not only did those vicious attacks cause damage to her face, but she was hurt badly that she could not even move due to blood clots in her back and had to get MRIs.
On March 17, 2005, she was even found guilty of conspiracy and one count of perjury as she had lied to a federal grand jury in 2001 for which she was sentenced to one year in prison. However, as the years passed, her appearance became a bigger target of criticism than her criminal record.
With all these years of injuries and insecurities, she used to cover all her bruises with cosmetics but then she was so weary of lying about her injuries that she chose surgery for removing those physical markings once and for all.
As Lil Kim stated, “I’m a person who may get bored with my look sometimes. I love what God gave me, but sometimes I want to dress it up.”
