Meet Akram Boutros Wife, Suzanne Boutros
Suzanne Boutros first met Akram Boutros at St. John’s University. Soon falling in love, the two went on to get married on December 5, 1986.
Now, as of 2022, the lovebirds have been married for over 36 years and are still going strong.
Even when Akram was first hired as a consultant to help St. Vincent’s Hospital-Manhattan in Cleveland, Suzanne would often make time to visit him. At the time, she even said that the new job is a great fit for her husband, and with their three daughters soon to be all out on their own, it will be “a chance to hit the reset button” for the two of them.
“Why not [start over] in a way that’s exciting and challenging,” she remarked before adding that it was such a positive step in the right direction. Infact, she was more than excited to meet people in Cleveland leaving the Northeast and New York where “it’s a little dog-eat-dog.”
Talking a little more about her husband’s passion for work, Suzanne said that Akram really worked hard. “We’re all scrambling to keep up with him, to be honest. He’s made changes and he’s going to keep making more changes, and I think they’ll be good for Metro,” she added.
Also, naturally, she sided with her husband when he was accused of giving himself unauthorized bonuses over four years in 2022. The husband-wife stood in a union as they said, the firing was retaliatory, and that Akram recently exposed board misconduct in its push for a new CEO, led by board Chair Vanessa Whiting.
As for St. Vincent’s Hospital-Manhattan board, they claimed that they took the actions “mindfully and deliberately but with sadness and disappointment.” Despite recognizing the wonderful things Dr. Boutros has done for the hospital, they said that CEOs shouldn’t self-evaluate and determine their entitlement to an additional bonus and at what amount.
To clear his name, Akram later even repaid the money with interest and self-reported to the Ohio Ethics Commission.
Who Are Suzanne Boutros Kids?
Suzanne Boutros shares three kids with Akram Boutros. They are — Jasmine, Shannon, and Tess (all daughters). Each of them left their New York roots and headed west to take advantage of the fabulous schools.
Their daughter, Jasmine Boutros has an MBA degree from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University and a JD from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. After completing her studies, Jasmine went on to intern and later become a department administrator at the Cleveland Clinic. In June 2020, she then joined KeyBank as a program manager and was working there at the time of writing this article.

As for Shannon Boutros, she stirred Graphic Design at Cleveland State University. Thereafter, she joined Heinen’s Grocery Store for almost 6 years before becoming a banker at Rocket Mortgage. Now, as of 2022, she works as an Apothecary Assistant at Options Naturopathic Clinic. Also, she’s the owner and reiki master of Sol Reiki.
Sadly, we don’t know much about Tess’ life after she graduate from John Carroll University in 2018.

Suzanne Boutros is a retired insurance agent. Following in the footsteps of her mother, Suzanne led and managed insurance and retail enterprises for more than 35 years.
Now, she’s retired from her role as president of the Suzanne Aral-Boutros Agency, Inc. in Glen Cove, NY. But she still continues to mentor disadvantaged young women to reach their potential. Her focus is on volunteer work in her adopted hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. There, she was a board member of College Now Greater Cleveland and a two-time Co-Chair of the “Bags & Bourbon” fundraiser, which benefits College Now’s mentorship program.
As for her education, she received her BS in Biology from St. John’s University in 1982.
