After much speculation, Katy Perry has finally explained what went wrong with her facial “glitch” on Monday night while performing in Las Vegas.
The 38-year-old singer, who is best known for her famous song Teenage Dream, attracted widespread interest after a TikTok video showed her straining to open one of her eyelids in the middle of the performance. Many fans joked that she had a “mechanical breakdown” or had been replaced by a robot.

The social media uproar started when Katy appeared to be having difficulty opening her right eye while performing in Vegas while wearing a silver leotard with a can design on it.

After temporarily pausing her act to finally be able to open her right eye, the Roar singer resumed her performance.
The moment, which was captured by a member of the audience who then uploaded it to social media, sparked a flurry of comments from fans joking that Katy had suffered some kind of technical glitch.
Oh dear! The social media storm unfolded when in the middle of her Vegas show and dressed in her can-inspired silver leotard, one of Katy’s eyelids appeared to be stuck, leaving the star struggling to open her right eye
What is happening? Once she was able to open her right eye once more, the Roar singer temporarily interrupted her performance and resumed it.
However, a sane user quickly pointed out that it might have been the result of Katy’s artificial eyelashes becoming stuck to the inside of her eye.
Clone failure, someone playfully said. Make sure all software is updated and apply any necessary updates the following time.
She was downloading the song, said another, while a third wrote, “The robot had a malfunction.”
Mechanical failure, she even hits that button to keep it open, a fan continued.
But then one of Katy’s followers was quick to clarify: ‘Lol it’s her eyelash glue getting stuck to her bottom lid, happens to me all the time.’
