After Peter Mcnab’s tragic death as an Avalanche color commentator, people were interested in learning more about his family, the cause of his passing, and his wife.

On Sunday, November 6, 2022, The Avalanche and Altitude, the team’s neighborhood sports network, made the announcement that Peter Mcnab had passed away.

He had been the Avalanche’s color analyst for 25 years until he passed away, and his contract was for the 2022–2023 campaign. Peter Mcnab’s cause of death is still a mystery. However, there was activity on the internet to find out more about his wife.

A professional ice hockey player from America, Peter Maxwell McNab, was born in Canada. He played in 14 N.H.L. seasons between 1973 and 1987 with the Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins, Vancouver Canucks, and New Jersey Devils.

Later, he worked as their color analyst from the start of the Colorado Avalanche’s inaugural 1995–96 season until his passing.

Peter McNab, a former NHL player who rose to fame as a Colorado Avalanche commentator, passed away on Sunday. He was 70.

His passing was announced via a joint social media announcement from The Avalanche and Altitude T.V. Late in the summer of 2021, McNab revealed he was battling cancer; however, in February, he declared it to be in remission.

When the Avalanche defeated Tampa Bay to win their third Stanley Cup in June, Peter was a member of the broadcast crew.

I appreciate your kind thoughts and assistance over the past few months, as McNab said, “You can only understand my emotions yesterday and today; the overwhelming emotion I have is thankfulness.” The significance of this to the entire McNab family and to me cannot be overstated.

Before the N.H.L. preseason on September 29, 69-year-old McNab revealed he was battling cancer. The former University of Denver star, who participated in 995 NHL games over 14 seasons, was honored in the United States.

There is no mention of the type of cancer that Peter Mcnab was battling.

 

Peter Mcnab Family Details Explored

 

A well-known American professional ice hockey player of Canadian ancestry, Peter Mcnab was born on May 8, 1952. He served the Avalanche as a color analyst for more than 25 years.

McNab came from a well-known ice hockey family. The Detroit Red Wings won the Stanley Cup in 1950 while Max McNab was a member of the squad. Later, he had jobs as a coach and general manager.

David, Peter’s brother, spent 43 seasons in the National Hockey League as a scout and executive before resigning from his post as senior vice president of hockey operations for the Anaheim Ducks in May 2021.

David, Peter’s brother, served as the Anaheim Ducks’ Vice President of Hockey Operations for 40 years before retiring last season.

Peter played over 954 games throughout a 14-year career with the Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins, Vancouver Canucks, and Devils, totaling 363 goals and 818 points.

Despite being well-known, Peter McNab kept his family a secret, therefore it is unclear how many kids he had or what their names were.

In the 1987–88 season, McNab began working as a color analyst for the Devils after he retired.

Mcnab covered the Devils for SportsChannel for eight years before moving to Colorado for the Colorado Avalanche’s first season.

While the Olympics were being held in Nagano, Japan, Peter also served as a TV announcer for N.B.C., a color commentator for T.N.T., and an analyst on N.H.L. on N.B.C.

On the other side, Italy’s Turin hosted the Winter Olympics in 2006.
