A Pennsylvania man violated an order of protection from abuse Sunday afternoon when he broke into his estranged wife’s parents’ home and stabbed her and their 11-year-old daughter.

Richard Hall, 49, also attacked the wife’s parents before stabbing himself, KDKA reported.

The mother and her two children, the 11-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy, had moved into her parents home to get away from his constant abuse, Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele said on Monday.

Neighbors said they heard a vehicle speeding down the street before hearing the sound of a back door bing kicked in, followed by screams from inside the home.

Aubele said Hall had “some sort of conversation” with his estranged wife, who refused to let him in the house. That’s when he kicked the door in and attacked.

“He physically broke a window door to get into the house and began attacking her with a knife,” Aubele said.

The 11-year-old girl stepped between her mother and the enraged attacker and was also stabbed.

“That 11-year-old child saved her mother’s life,” Aubele said.

The parents also interfered, with the mother suffering stab wounds while the father was kicked in the head, Law&Crime reported. The 8-year-old boy ran to a neighbor’s for help.

According to WTAE, all the victims are expected to survived their injuries.

Aubele told KDKA that the wife had recently filed for divorce and obtained the protection order. Hall has been charged with multiple counts, including four counts of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and endangering the welfare of children. He’ll be arraigned when he is released from the hospital.
