Authorities are appealing for public help in the search for a woman who disappeared during a cruise on a Holland America ship.
The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) is investigating the case of Ann Evans, 55, who was reported missing after she did not return home on November 20. Evans was last seen leaving a bus during an “organized island tour” while the Rotterdam cruise ship was docked at Port St. Maarten, according to FOX News Digital.
She reportedly disembarked the ship at approximately 11 a.m. local time. The cruise had set sail on November 16 from Fort Lauderdale, embarking on a 12-day journey through the Caribbean.
In a statement, the Sint Maarten police confirmed they have conducted “extensive checks” and are pursuing multiple leads, all in line with legal procedures, as they continue the search for Evans.
The Police Force of Sint Maarten said in a statement that they have “carried out extensive checks and followed multiple lines of information in accordance with legal guidelines.”
Menawhile, KPSM sated that someone matching Ms. Evans’ description checked into a hotel “on the French side of the island using her passport.”
KPSM said it is working with French police to gather additional information.
“If Ms. Evans herself sees this message, she is kindly requested to contact her family, the Police Force of Sint Maarten, or the French Gendarmerie as soon as possible to confirm her safety,” KPSM said in a statement.
The story is developing. Check back for updates.
