A couple from New York is facing serious allegations after allegedly traveling to Florida and opening fire at the residence of a woman who was involved in an affair with the husband.
Angelo Portelli, 41, and his wife, Natalie Lopez-Portelli, 53, have been charged with multiple offenses including four counts of attempted second-degree murder and battery by strangulation. These charges are linked to an incident in December 2025 involving Jessica Rodriguez and her new partner, as stated in court records obtained by Oxygen.
Jessica revealed to the authorities that her casual relationship with Angelo began after they connected on TikTok, according to an arrest affidavit reviewed by Oxygen. Angelo, who purportedly told Jessica he was in the process of a divorce, had traveled to Florida four times. The relationship ended when Natalie reached out to Jessica in October 2025 to inform her that the couple was actually not divorcing and that Angelo had misled her.
Following the breakup, Jessica began a new relationship with Eugenio Santiago, an officer with the Orlando Police Department’s community service division. He moved in with her and her two children, as detailed in court documents.
Unable to let go, Angelo and Natalie allegedly showed up at Jessica’s home on December 6, according to the affidavit. They reportedly rang the doorbell, claiming to have noticed damage to the rear window of Eugenio’s patrol car.
Though Jessica answered the door, she told authorities that Angelo was wearing a hoodie and face mask and she didn’t recognize him. Natalie also tried to disguise her appearance by wearing a blonde wig, authorities said.
While Eugenio was out checking on the vehicle, Angelo was allegedly seen in surveillance footage approaching him from behind and putting him in what looked like a choke hold.
“As the altercation continued,” authorities noted in the affidavit, “the video showed both Eugenio and Angelo fall to the ground.”
Eugenio can be heard yelling for help as Natalie approached the front door to talk with Jessica. As the scuffle continued, authorities said Eugenio called for Jessica to get his gun.
After breaking free from Angelo, he walked back toward the house and retrieved a weapon, while Angelo raised his own firearm, according to the court records.
Someone in the video yelled “put it down” before gunfire erupted—although authorities said it was unclear who fired the first shot. Eugenio later told investigators that Angelo fired first, per the court records.
“As Angelo ran towards his car, multiple gunshots and muzzle flashes were observed from Angelo’s handgun,” authorities wrote in the affidavit. “Both Natalie and Angelo were then seen running back towards their vehicle and fleeing the area at a high rate of speed.”
The gunfire allegedly did extensive damage to Eugenio’s patrol car, Jessica’s vehicle and the home, authorities said.
Phone records later recovered by investigators allegedly placed both Angelo and Natalie at the scene at the time of the shooting, according to the affidavit.
Angelo—who worked as a customs/border patrol agent at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York—also allegedly confessed to a coworker to being in Florida at the time of the shooting.
The coworker told investigators that when asked about the trip, Angelo began to cry and said Natalie had wanted to see the home of the woman he’d had an affair with while they were in Florida visiting his father, per the affidavit. According to his account, while at the house, he noticed the damaged car window.
“Angelo said because he was a was a fellow law enforcement officer,” authorities wrote in the affidavit, “he decided to go to the house and inform whoever was inside that the window was broken.”
Angelo allegedly told his coworker that he had words with the man who answered the door and claimed the man had fired two shots first, before he returned fire, per the court records.
However, investigators said in the affidavit that his account “contradicted what really happened according to the surveillance footage of the incident.”
Angelo allegedly turned over a Glock 19 handgun that authorities said was found to match the evidence left at the scene, according to to the court records.
Investigators argued that the couple’s alleged actions that day were carried out maliciously and could have resulted in the death of Eugenio, Jessica or her two children.
“The act was imminently dangerous to another and demonstrated a depraved mind without regard for human life,” they wrote in the affidavit. “The overt act went beyond mere preparation.”
The couple—who are currently being held at Florida’s Orange County Department of Corrections—are slated to appear in court for a hearing July 9 on the charges against them, per court records.
