Amy Duggar King has come forward with a supportive outreach to the alleged victim linked to Joseph Duggar.
Speaking exclusively to Oxygen, the former star of 19 Kids and Counting shared that she recently extended a helping hand and compassion to the individual involved in the allegations against Duggar.
“My intention was to be a source of support and to let her know she’s not alone in this,” she said earnestly. “I wanted to convey that I believe in her, that she’s acknowledged, and sincerely has my sympathy. We are maintaining contact,” she continued.
Amy emphasized her desire for the alleged victim’s story to be heard despite the Duggar family’s high-profile stature overshadowing it.
“Too often, media attention fixates on the perpetrator,” she remarked. “They dominate the headlines, while the victim is left to endure the struggle, desperately needing to feel loved and safeguarded. She should be surrounded by support. Abusers attempt to mute your voice and diminish your empowerment, stripping away your essence. I want her to always feel valued and recognize her own worth.”
The Holy Disruptor author said she feels “so proud” of the alleged victim for speaking out.
“I’m so proud at a young age, even when she’s that young that she knew it was wrong and that she stood up for what was what was right. That is such a beautiful, beautiful virtue just to have that truth and to be able to say, like, I don’t care, despite the backlash that I am going to receive,” Amy said. “That it’s worth speaking up about. And so I hope that it opens up the floodgates for more survivors and more victims to come forward.”
Amy’s comments come after her cousin Joseph was accused of allegedly molesting a then 9-year-old while on vacation. Joseph, who is currently awaiting trial, plead not guilty to all charges, People reports.
Duggar was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor after the Bay County Sheriff’s Office alleged in a statement that he’d molested an underage girl while on a family vacation in 2020 in Panama City Beach, Fla.
What Is Joseph Duggar Accused Of?
According to the sheriff’s office, a forensic interview was conducted on the minor, who was 14-years-old in March 2026, where she disclosed “several incidents” involving the reality star that allegedly took place years prior while the family was staying at a vacation home on Danny Drive.
“The victim reported Duggar repeatedly asked her to sit on his lap. As the vacation continued, he also asked her to sit next to him on a couch and covered them with a blanket,” the sheriff’s office alleged. “During this time, Duggar manipulated the victim’s underwear and grazed her genitals.”
Authorities said Duggar “would also continue to rub his hands on her thighs.”
The girl told investigators that Duggar later apologized for his actions and the alleged abuse stopped.
The minor told her father about the alleged incidents on March 17, according to the sheriff’s office. When confronted by the girl’s father and Tontitown Police detectives in Arkansas, the sheriff’s office said Duggar “admitted to his actions.”
Tontitown Police said in a statement of their own that they took the 31-year-old into custody around 3 p.m. on March 18 after receiving a warrant from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.
“This incident did not occur in Tontitown,” police said. “Our officers assisted the victim, the family, and the agency with jurisdiction over the case.”
Oxygen previously reached out to the Duggar family for comment, but didn’t receive a reply.
