Peacock just released a sneak peek of the new crime thriller Bosco, which follows the real story of a convict’s triumphant escape from prison to meet his daughter.

From writer and director Nicholas Manuel Pino, Bosco is based on the life of Quawntay “Bosco” Adams, who was sentenced to 35 years behind bars for attempted possession of marijuana.

According to the film’s official synopsis on Peacock: “In 2006, over two million Americans were incarcerated, but only one managed to escape a federal maximum-security wing while under 24-hour surveillance- Quawntay “Bosco” Adams. For the chance to be at his first child’s birth, he planned an ingenious escape with the help of a lonely Missouri woman that he meets by replying to a personal ad.”

Adams helped produce the film, working closely with the actors who played out his life on screen. Let’s take a look at the stars who were cast in the drama.

Who Will Play Quawntay Adams in Peacock’s Bosco?

Marvel actor Aubrey Joseph — known for the Cloak & Dagger series — will lead the cast of Bosco, portraying a convicted Adams, restlessly dealing with the news of becoming a father behind bars.

The film is based on Adams’ memoir Chasin’ Freedum, which he wrote as a document of his personal plights and pursuit of freedom from misfortune.

“My story has a message of hope,” the book’s description read. “One that should inspire you to find your meaning and purpose in life, and change how you perceive young black men trapped in the system.

Vivica A. Fox and Theo Rossi Help Round Out Bosco Cast

The pic will also feature stars like Vivica A. Fox (Kill Bill) as “Willa” and Theo Rossi (True Story) as “Ramos,” along with Hairspray actress Nikki Blonsky as “Tammy.” Tyrese Gibson of the Fast and Furious franchise will star as “Tootie” and Torro’s Thomas Jane as “Hunt.”

The rest of the cast includes John Lewis, Brandon Rogers, DC Young Fly, and Tory Lanez.
