In Pennsylvania, a man is facing charges after allegedly breaking into a family’s kitchen by smashing a window, posing as an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent, and attempting to steal a video game console.

The incident unfolded Saturday night in Pittsburgh’s Beltzhoover neighborhood, prompting a swift response from local police after receiving reports of a burglary in progress, as noted by KDKA. While officers were on their way, they learned that a tenant had subdued the intruder by knocking him unconscious.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered the suspect, identified as William Gregory, lying unconscious on the floor. A 17-year-old was present at the scene, suffering from injuries to his ankle and hand, according to police reports.

WTAE reported that court documents reveal Gregory forcefully entered the residence, claiming to be an ICE officer and demanding to see documentation. Armed with a pocketknife, he attempted to steal a PlayStation console and its controllers.

The situation escalated when Gregory also seized the teenager’s cell phone, prompting the young man to defend himself by striking Gregory in the face.

Gregory regained consciousness as police were handcuffing him, and he resisted arrest, KDKA said. It took multiple officers and taser to subdue him.

Medics arrived on the scene and sedated the fake ICE officer then took him to Mercy Hospital for an evaluation. Police said he appeared heavily intoxicated and possibly under the influence of drugs.

The officers learned he had outstanding warrants, including for burglary and possession of a firearm.

Gregory is charged with ethnic intimidation and burglary and is being held in the Allegheny County Jail, WTAE reported.
