An investigation into a homicide has been launched following the discovery of a body in a vehicle on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Frezja Baker, a woman from North Carolina who had been missing for a week.
The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department confirmed that the body found in a car behind an abandoned church in Charlotte belonged to 31-year-old Baker. She disappeared on December 4 after leaving a Quick N E-Z Food Mart, which is located about 1.5 miles from where her body was eventually discovered, according to a report by WBTV.
Baker’s brother told the media that she had dropped her 2-year-old son off at their grandparents’ home. Later that evening, she contacted her brother, stating she was an hour away, but she never arrived at her destination.
According to WSOC-TV, Baker’s death is currently being treated as a homicide. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of her death.
