A Georgia teen accused of killing her mother and stepfather was denied bond Tuesday morning.

According to FOX 5 Atlanta, a Carroll County judge denied bond for 17-year-old Sarah Grace Patrick, following an emotional two-hour hearing.

Patrick, the daughter of 41-year-old Kristen Brock and stepdaughter of James Brock, 45, is facing two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office said that Patrick turned herself in at the county jail in July, months after allegedly calling 911 to report the killings.

During the bond hearing Tuesday, loved ones described Patrick as a hardworking, “church-going young woman” who doesn’t have a criminal history.

Prosecutors, however, said Patrick should be considered a flight risk, given the circumstances in which her younger sister found the victims deceased. The prosecution argued that Patrick could potentially intimidate her sibling, who’s a witness in the case.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Patrick contacted emergency services on February 20 after her 6-year-old sister found the couple shot inside their residence in the 1500 block of Tyus Carrollton Road.

Other family members in the courtroom were against getting bond, including James Brock’s son and his sister, Kim Bowling.

“If the defendant can kill her own parents in such a violent manner, I fear for my own safety and the safety of my family and friends,” Bowling said.

The judge agreed with the prosecution.

“This is not daytime court TV and this is not for entertainment. We’re here to simply apply the law… and I’m going to do that to the best of my ability,”Judge Jeffrey Hightower said.

Meanwhile, according to DailyMail, Patrick’s father, DJ, has claimed that he believes she did not carry out the murders.

His girlfriend, Kelly, told the court that they never had any discipline problems with the defendant.

Hightower set a trial date for January 5, 2026, should a grand jury indict her. An arraignment has been scheduled for September.

A motive for the killings is currently unknown. Check back for updates.
