A 35-year-old Michigan man was charged with multiple counts after his fiancee called police to say he had assaulted her 11-year-old daughter and was dragging the girl down the street.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said the woman told dispatchers she was following the abusive boyfriend as he dragged the little girl down the street, refusing to let go of her, WDIV reported. Deputies arrived and found the situation as the woman described just before 8 p.m. on Monday.
The man refused deputies’ commands to stop and let go of the child, eventually prompting deputies to us a taser, causing the kidnapper to fall to the ground and let go of the frightened girl.
He continued to struggle against deputies and was eventually taken into custody.
The little girl suffered minor injuries and was treated by medics on the scene. The abuser was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries and was booked into jail upon his release.
The sheriff’s office declined to release his name until he is arraigned, according to WJBK. Police have not released further details.
A 35-year-old man named Nolan Ray Wolan was booked into the Monroe County jail Monday night on domestic violence, child abuse, kidnapping, assault and battery on a police officer and assaulting and resisting and police officer, jail records show. He is being held without bond.
