In a harrowing incident on Thursday, authorities in Georgia apprehended a man accused of a brutal attack on a woman who miraculously survived, despite a knife being embedded in her head.
Police officers in East Point responded to an alarming scene at an apartment complex where they discovered the woman, astonishingly alive, with a knife protruding from her head. The victim identified the assailant as Rodriguez Fogle, 36, a relative who, according to WXIA, had sexually assaulted her.
In a desperate bid to escape the violence, the woman leaped from a window with her two young children. A young witness who was present during the ordeal recounted seeing Fogle attacking the victim. This child tried to intervene and was injured, sustaining a cut to the head in the process.
Adding to the horror, Fogle allegedly confiscated the victim’s phone, preventing her from reaching out for emergency assistance or contacting the authorities.
The violence did not cease there, as Fogle reportedly continued his assault outside, viciously stabbing the woman in full view of her children and a nearby neighbor. In a chilling escalation, Fogle is said to have entered another apartment where he held a knife to a second woman’s back, demanding her car keys, while her child was present, as reported by WXIA.
Hours later, police found Fogle sleeping inside the stolen vehicle at a gas station in Doraville and placed him under arrest without incident.
Jailed in Fulton County, Fogle is charged with aggravated assault, cruelty to children, armed robbery, home invasion, battery, and terroristic threats and acts. WXIA reported that he also has an active warrant for aggravated assault in DeKalb County.
