Brian Walshe has been handed a life sentence without the chance for parole.
This comes after a jury in Massachusetts found him guilty of murdering and dismembering his wife, Ana Walshe, who was the mother of their three children.
Ana disappeared on January 1, 2023.
Initially, 50-year-old Walshe admitted to improperly disposing of her body and lying to authorities. However, he later changed his plea on these charges prior to jury selection, though he continued to deny responsibility for her murder.
Prosecutors alleged that Walshe, aged 48, dismembered Ana and disposed of her body parts in several trash bins around the area. Investigators uncovered blood-stained materials at the couple’s home, including a hacksaw.
Ana’s body has never been found.
