Search Intensifies for Pennsylvania Woman Who Vanished After Getting Threatening Phone Call

In the days leading up to Kada Scott’s disappearance, she confided in her friends about being harassed both online and over the phone. She reported for her shift at an upscale assisted living center, scheduled from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Not long after arriving, Kada left the facility, leaving her car in the parking lot, with no security cameras in sight. Her phone went directly to voicemail, suggesting it might have died, and her social media accounts remained inactive.

Two weeks into the investigation, authorities announced the arrest of 21-year-old Keon King on charges of kidnapping Kada, though her whereabouts remain unknown. Investigators pleaded with the community to help locate King’s 1999 gold Toyota Camry, which bears the Pennsylvania license plate MSX0797.

Just hours after this appeal, a resident at Gypsy Lane Condos recalled seeing a car matching that description parked in the lot for nearly a week. Officers quickly converged on the area, where King’s family resides, and secured the parking lot to conduct a search. The vehicle was towed away after police confirmed it belonged to King.

Surveillance footage revealed the car entering the gated parking area of Gypsy Lane five days before it was towed. A resident had opened the gate for the driver, who remained in the car for approximately 35 minutes before departing. It remains uncertain if King was driving at the time.

Just two weeks before Kada’s disappearance, King listed the car for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

Police are also spreading out from the last search at Awbury Arboretum. Acting on a tip, officers search across the street at the now-abandoned Ada Lewis Middle School.

During a grid search outside the locked building, they recover some of Kada’s belongings: her debit card and pink phone case.
