A tragic incident in Ohio has led to criminal charges against a 20-year-old man who allegedly struck and killed his pregnant girlfriend with a vehicle amid a heated argument. This incident also resulted in the loss of the unborn child.

Cameron Martin has been formally indicted on February 4 on two counts each of involuntary manslaughter and aggravated vehicular homicide. These charges relate to the death of his girlfriend, Stephanie Householder, according to court documents obtained by Oxygen.

The indictment alleges that Martin’s actions on July 19, 2025, resulted in Householder’s death through “felonious assault and/or aggravated vehicular assault.” Additionally, he is charged with the “unlawful termination” of her pregnancy. The documents further accuse him of “recklessly” driving the vehicle that led to the deaths of both the 21-year-old woman and her unborn child.

This indictment follows a lengthy investigation that began shortly after the incident occurred.

According to East Liverpool Police, as reported by local station WTOV, the couple was at Broadway Wharf when an argument erupted inside their car. Householder reportedly exited the vehicle and moved behind it, at which point Martin is alleged to have reversed the car, tragically striking her.

East Liverpool Police told local station WTOV in July that the couple was at the Broadway Wharf when a fight broke out in the car. Householder got out and walked behind the vehicle, just as Martin allegedly backed up and ran over the 21-year-old.

“They got into an argument. She gets out of the car. She crosses over behind the car,” East Liverpool Police Chief John Lane explained at the time. “He says he watched her in the mirror, but then when he goes to back out of there, I think he accidentally ran her over. We’re trying to figure that out now whether it was intentional or not.”

Officers arrived to find Martin kneeling over his girlfriend, who was later airlifted to a Pittsburgh hospital where she died.

The following day, Martin returned to the area to hold a candlelight vigil, but it quickly went awry.

“I don’t know what he was thinking, but when he showed up it didn’t turn out very well,” Lane told WTOV. “Everybody was told to leave. It turned into a riot almost.”

Oxygen reached out to Lane after the indictment was returned, but did not receive an immediate response.

Martin was taken into custody three days after the secret indictment. His bail was set at $100,000, according to court records obtained by Oxygen.

Columbiana County Prosecuting Attorney Vito Abruzzino told Oxygen that Martin—who has yet to appear in court—is expected to be arraigned on the charges against him on Feb. 26.

It is unclear whether Martin has retained an attorney.
